Apr 5, 2012 - Looking at the view from where he was situated, I believe he was in the most powerful part of the storm as it was heading east. You must add the forward speed of the storm to the prevailing wind speed to get the total speed. He was in that part of the storm.

Apr 5, 2012 - Well Technically, but most of that went over the harbor area and was over the water then wrapped around to come onshore right were I was. But I think with a storm that has only a few miles wide eye and so intense, anywhere in that eyewall was like being in an EF-3 Tornado !
