May 12, 2012 - How are you supposed to know what to allow and block with a lot of options for some sites? And is Ghostery better then noscript and should it be used alone or with noscript?

Apr 2, 2012 - I presume the practical benefit is to keep out (or at lease limit) 3rd party junk, especially invidious shyster advertisers, personal data miners, and criminal computer hijackers that invade innocent, lazy, or corrupt websites that I browse. NoScript is not yet very good at making safe browsing easy, but it is beginning to be part of a solution. I hope that soon their GUI and technology will start to encourage reputable & marginal companies to be more forthright, careful, and trustworthy.

Mar 10, 2012 - The Mozilla team is much more dedicated to security. I've recently dumped Safari on my Macs since they have shit extensions, nothing much related to security

ARTZY64 Says:

Mar 10, 2012 - You guys who find NoScript invaluable should pay the developer... I just paid the suggested $15.00

Mar 10, 2012 - Does tor find LSOs? I use BetterPrivacy add-on in Firefox to kill those

ARTZY64 Says:

Mar 10, 2012 - Interestingly enough, just this morning, a report on CNN covered this very subject, telling people about cookies that companies use to gauge your buying habits. You can actually wind up paying higher prices for goods that you buy regularly, because they know who you are by the 'planted' cookie address.

ARTZY64 Says:

Mar 10, 2012 - Sometimes if you have similar Firefox add-ons enabled they will cancel each other out to an extent. I recently had Ghostery and DNT+ enabled at the same time, but learned Ghostery was loading first and causing DNT to back off, with the result that far fewer tracking companies were being blocked by DNT as compared to what various other users were reporting online. So I dumped Ghostery, and as/of today DNT has blocked 3,093 tracking attempts in about the last 2 weeks.

Mar 4, 2012 - Before installing NoScript, I was always getting viruses and malware from common sites at Google, Bing, any search engine, and even some news sites like HuffingtonPost (which is notorious for using way too many scripts). After trying NoScript, I haven't had a single incident due to a virus or malware, and it has been about a year now. Manually allowing scripts is kind of pain at first, but after awhile it becomes second nature when browsing.

Filmer1eX Says:

Mar 1, 2012 - TOR already has noscript preinstalled. Also there is something called "Tails" which is basically a Debian live cd preloaded with tor that won't allow any other internet activity than TORs.

Filmer1eX Says:

Mar 1, 2012 - Something you use to watch child pornography and buy drugs online (srsly though, it's an "anonymization service" meaning you can browse the web (and some hidden pages only TOR users can access) without cops, your isp or anyone else being able to track it.

Feb 5, 2012 - For those who dont even know what Tor is, you shouldnt even bother with it. It is a series of proxies that hides you from tha internetz, put simply.
